One fine day, at the age of 32, I lost my passion. I imagine what goes through your mind, but no. I mean passion at work.
I was a successful VP, motivated large systems of people and processes, I earned well, but something was missing. Everything worked well, but I had no energy and enthusiasm, I did not remember why I chose this job in the first place and what did it mean to me. Mt close family and friends did not understand what I was complaining about, how can you not feel happy when you have everything?
I felt I just had to leave, without knowing why. I followed my heart, left without knowing where. I knew I need to do something else. It was the biggest change in my life. During this period, I went back to check with myself what I wanted, what were my desires, and what I wanted to do when I grew up. The journey was complex, sometimes frightening and unclear, but I kept on going because I knew there was something good waiting for me and I did not want to give up on myself.
Today I know that research shows that when we are happy and satisfied with our work, the quality and productivity of the work improves, and success comes with them.
One of the women I had the privilege of accompanying on her journey felt stuck and not satisfied in her work. She was very successful and progressed, but lost interest and desire to do it. Over time, the negative emotions increased and her sense of self-worth decreased. In the process, she chose to look at what is inside her and what is around her and make a change. She chose not to give up on herself and to fulfill her dream of engaging in the work. The process was not easy, there were ups and downs, fears and uncertainties, but she continued to dream and do everything to fulfill, and succeeded!
You can also look for passion at work. The change is possible at any age and in any situation. The first step is to choose. who? myself!
What? To choose to live my life truly, in a present and meaningful way.
